Cake lovers be like.. #inyourface #oitnb #agreed #dessertfanatic

No, in your heart of hearts, you know as well as I do, red velvet is bullsh**.
It tastes like Play-Doh.
It is not velvety.
And the only thing that’s good about it is the cream cheese frosting which is meant to live on top of carrot cake, like God intended.
Okay, panda.
We hear you.
Red velvet isn’t a thing.
Red velvet can go to hell.

Word!!! Say it!!!

Boyhood. (2014)

Decided to finally watch this drama that was stored in my phone for a while now but I never found the mood to actually watch it. And since I was still very tired from the two weeks of vacation in KK and also Hong Kong, I just thought I could watch this one since it was already on my phone and I wouldn’t need to pick from a long list from my harddisk and just play it already.

I knew the movie was made through a span of a few years until the boy grew up. But I initially thought the boy was Ethan Hawke. It turns out he played the father in this movie. But still pretty impressive that they managed to keep the few main characters throughout the 12 years in the making of this movie!

You could really see the boy growing up before your eyes. From 12 years, they managed to squeeze all those years into a 2 hour and 45 minutes movie. Impressive indeed. The story was pretty straight forward, not a lot of drama, but perhaps at certain point of the movie, I thought the boy was gonna end up queer. I liked that he didn’t though. *Oops, spoiler alert.

Anyway, it was an interesting movie even though there was nothing else special of unique about the stories aside from the fact that they used the same actors throughout the 12 years. But kudos to the director though for thinking of this “REALISTIC” way of making a movie ^_^

Season Enders. #onceuponatime #janethevirgin #dramagirl

Can’t wait for next season!!! Aarrrrgghh!! From bounty hunter, to sheriff, to the savior, to the dark one. Boom! Thats great story telling right there!

And she finally said it! The 143s! Aaawwww…

And on a more realistic world,

My favorite scene for Jane the Virgin finale, the one where Petra ends up in a fertility clinic. The Twist!!! Not to mention the ending as well?? Its gonna be a really hyped up season 2 starter!!!

恋恋不忘 – 第十六集 #mandarinMondays

One of my favorite scene. Where 厉仲谋 gave flowers to 吴桐 for the first time. And sort of had feelings for her but he wasn’t sure.

Insert “kilig” here. eeeeee…. 😍😍😍

Am on a roll here, spent all night catching up until episode 21. Episode 20 was when they got married and I am just so hooked I need to get this done and over with so I could get back to me normal body clock! aaaaarrggghhhhh

Because its Mandarin Monday again.

I told myself that I should take the time to keep up with the languages that I know so I won’t be out of touch with the languages. Hence the birth of Mandarin Mondays, Tagalog Thursdays and French Fridays. Since its Mandarin Monday today, so I opted to go with the easy way of learning Mandarin by reading the Chinese characters subtitles on the TV drama series. Works for me best! Heheehehe..

Thanks to online streaming, I took the time to watch this “Loving, Never Forgetting” (恋恋不忘) drama series starring the ever handsome Jerry Yan. Irah and I saw the commercial for this series from the office pantry’s tv that they were about to broadcast here in Pinoy Telly so I figured I’d go check it out and see if I’d like it.

Its about this young hotel tycoon who refused to get married and settle down, only to find out that he actually has a 5 year old son. Then realises he wants to keep the son and take full custody of the child. Hence the ever drama coming from the not so capable mother.

After 3 episodes in, I am hooked!!

Throwback Tuesday on the Ski Machine. #flowerfour #teenmoments

Watching Meteor Garden II while doing my Cardio session on the ski machine. In TAGALOG audio! How cool is that?

Really enjoyed this drama series back in the day, and I guess their Pinoy fans are just so die hard that they managed to get the tv stations to bring this fad back!

Yay to TV shows that can keep me company while I work it!

More movie marathons.

Was very curious to see how well Vanessa Hudgens performed in this movie. I was disappointed. She looked the part, great make up to make her look all beat up, but I think the emotions were not strong or “passionate” enough. There were times when I think if that same girl was in that position and had a lot of emotional pain, she would cry harder, and more “sincerely”. I really think she needs to have more practice in her acting to make it more convincing.

I heard this was rather awful. But watching the trailer, I knew I really wanted to know how they would play out a story about a teddy bear that can actually talk and is “alive”. Sadly, it was not what I expected and yes, it is an R rated movie filled with coarse language that is totally not for children. More importantly, I just cannot seem to find Mark Wahlberg funny AT ALL. I guess I just don’t get the humor so much.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

Just finished watching this. Heard from reviews that it wasn’t good and was rather boring. Oddly I found it pretty interesting! Especially the part when he finally met the photographer at the Himalayas and played soccer with the locals. Gave such a “feel-good” feeling just watching that scene. And I thought many scenes were done pretty well on how they projected and presented them. Especially the x-ray vision of when Walter Mitty was at the airport back from Afghanistan. Brilliant idea!

I give this a 4/5 star personal rating. ^_^

Its the “staying indoors” kind of Saturday. #lazy #emo #sad

Catching up on some Switched at Birth Season 3 drama series. Initially had another Binondo Food Trip planned in my calendar but that didn’t happen. I also thought of going to Lucky China Town just to watch a movie and go on a solo food trip but I got lazy because I had to wait for the laundry lady to come pick up my laundry. Which they only did 3 hours after I called them! Grrr

So I ended up just staying in. Might even call food delivery service. Screw calorie counting for the day.

I also got depressed after hearing news from Twitter and all over Facebook about how a Malaysian Plane gone missing. The MH370 was bound for Beijing from Kuala Lumpur and lost contact with the air traffic control. Last I heard, it actually crashed into the South China Sea. Praying that there will be survivors 🙏😢
