Road to 50 kg. #weightloss #healthfirst #herewegoagain


So… this happened. Finally got the courage to get back on track with my weight and health issues. I don’t even recall the last time I was at the gym or working out. I vaguely remember playing rugby and basketball with a bunch of NTec people after work and that was unpaid work back in summer 2015. This was a long time coming.

Ever since I got a paid job in a chartered accounting firm, it wasn’t easy to fit exercise and work out into the schedule. Late nights and long hours in the office was a sure deterrent. By the time I get off work, I was mentally already drained and didn’t have the motivation to work out physically.

Since getting back from Palmy on August 12, I made the decision to start watching my calorie intake and working out again. I couldn’t let myself go again to the point of no return. So I downloaded myFitnesspal app which I previously used for calorie counting and started my diet.

Used an online BMI calculator and sure enough, nothing surprising, but I am frickin’ OBESE!!


Urghh!! So now I need to really work on getting back to 50 kg. Even if its not 50, at least to the ideal weight of 53kg. Entering the 70s range has been my all time heaviest. I have never been this heavy in my life! It’s the ultimate wake up call.

So here’s to me, hoping I could pull this off once again as I did before. With lots of work out, getting into an active lifestyle and most importantly watching what I put into my body, and lots of meal prepping and planning, I will be able to reach this goal before Christmas this year. Yep, that’s the plan.


I did a 5 day free trial before actually signing up today. They had a 50% joining fee discount just for the access key, and then it would cost around $15 bucks a week for unlimited access as well as 24 hours access. Which is cool really, I haven’t heard of any gym that is open 24/7 back home or even in the Philippines.

Before I signed up today, went on a late lunch date with Ana my second Colombian friend (the first was her partner Jason of course).


She’s such a cutie, petite little lady with the so sexy accent. Despite not being very close with her (our mutual link was really through Jason) we managed to talk about every little thing about life. Sometimes I get that she finds it hard to express herself in English, but I’m glad she made the effort. I really should learn Spanish again!


After lunch we went to Gloria Jean’s to have some coffee and chat a bit more. Talked about what we are passionate about and what kind of business we would dream of starting. How cool is that huh?

She had to go off to work soon so by 4:30pm we headed our separate way. I felt so guilty about eating so much calorie in one seating I went off quickly to the gym to burn off at least 300 calories!!! I really should learn to cut down food portions from outside so I can control the food intake.

Using this heat pack for the first time since I got it for my 31st birthday…

Woke up with the urge to unload all the buffet food I had last night and right after doing so, my stomach started churning that I felt like I cant stand straight and needed my stomach to be pressed!

I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Did I have bad food last night? Sudden ingestion of raw salmon? Perhaps the food were not very fresh? Or maybe it was so empty that it hurts? But I wAn’t even hungry!

Then my roommate Gale got home, and suggested I drink hot tea and she was very kind to make me a mug of green tea. She’s a nurse so she started probing me with symptoms and possible causes of pain. Then she suspected it could also be dysmenorrhea since I was still having my menses. And so suggested that I use the hot compress that she saw in my cabinet and even poured the hot water in the compress and prepared it for me.

Awwww… Thank You Lord for such kind and caring roommates! β€οΈπŸ™

Split Ends be gone. #haircut

Finally had time to myself for a haircut. So I never tried Bench Fix Salon before and decided I should give it s shot. Just trimmed the edges and snipped away the split ends. Cut off about an inch of my hair length. I still feel like my hair is overly long but its alright for now. I’m already planning to cut it into a short bob next year. Problem is, my hairfall condition is worsening.

The hair stylist suggested I pay 1.5K for a hairfall treatment in which they placed a hot oil serum and massaged it into my scalp, leave it in for 15mins. And so I availed it, being kind of ashamed of my bad hair.

All in all, spent about 1.8k including the wash and cut. I really need to find other means of making sure my hair fall does not worsen. I’d have to do more research on what kind of supplements to take to make sure my hair roots are strong and doesn’t fall easily.

Not sure if you can see the end product since I was also wearing a black shirt.

Jogging beside the coastline! #beautiful #kk

Beautiful view and awesome breeze to cool the sweat! I really enjoyed running on the tracks made specially for the joggers and shared with bicycle riders too.

The only downside to it, is that you could see lots of trash along the coast, and of course, some parts of the sea actually smells horrifying and I suppose it was because it was also where the drainage is connected to.

I also tried out “penny” boarding, its the trend in the young teenagers nowadays. And I borrowed my teenage nieces’ penny board and gave it a go. The penny board can only carry a max of 80kg, and good thing I only weigh 56Kg max now. Hehehehehe. It was alright, I managed to balance myself at some point. But I think I’d choose roller blades over penny boards anytime!

Burned 130 calories in 18:12″ this morning! My last run here at Putra Heights. Since I did some Pump it Up aerobics this morning before the run, I decided I cut me some slack by not going 30minutes on the road. At least I made a 45minutes workout in total at the start of today! Yay! Thank You Lord for being my strength and my shield!

Its just waaay too hot outside even at 5:15pm! And I also think so much rice and noodles the past few days is really slowing me down. Gotta get back in shape after the vacay but am still trying to steal a few workouts too while on holiday.
