Thy will be done #onrepeat

I’m so confused
I know I heard You loud and clear
So, I followed through
Somehow I ended up here
I don’t wanna think
I may never understand
That my broken heart is a part of Your plan
When I try to pray
All I’ve got is hurt and these four words

Thy will be done

I know You’re good
But this don’t feel good right now
And I know You think
Of things I could never think about
It’s hard to count it all joy
Distracted by the noise
Just trying to make sense
Of all Your promises
Sometimes I gotta stop
Remember that You’re God
And I am not

Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is
Thy will be done
Thy will be done

I know You see me
I know You hear me, Lord
Your plans are for me
Goodness You have in store
I know You hear me
I know You see me, Lord
Your plans are for me
Goodness You have in store

Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is
Thy will be done

I know You see me
I know You hear me, Lord

A song by Hillary Scott & The Scott Family.

As my niece Danica would say, “Omaira!” (her version of OMG)

This song just bursts out what my heart is feeling and what my brain cannot express in words because of the stress I’ve gone through lately. So much so that I’ve been having suicidal thoughts and feel like giving up this life, this world where everything is a rat race and we have to keep working hard and always be at the top and ahead of everyone else.

Being average is not acceptable, being a simple person with simple lives just means you are not ambitious, you are lazy, etc etc. Sigh… and if you settle with simplicity, then you don’t get the luxury and earn a lot of money like the rest of the world.

Craving for the King of Fruits.

After church service today, had lunch with my ladyboss and Saj at a Filipino Cafe called Turo Turo down at K’Road. I must say, they took their time in preparing the food, and ladyboss was actually kinda disappointed with her dish which was the Sinigang Baboy that wasn’t even sour at all.

Anyway, after lunch, Saj and I headed to the famous Lim Chour supermarket to get some stuff that you wouldn’t otherwise find in the regular supermarket like Countdown or New World. And I got me some DURIAN!!!

They were both Thai durians but I think I liked the second one better than the first. The first one was “Seedless”!! Awesome how today’s packaging really makes it so much easier to consume the Durian. And I can have it all year round too! (I think) However, the seedless one sort of smelled a bit strange for me, I reckon it was because it wasn’t vacuum sealed and the fruit was packed with clingwrap.

It was kind of costly too, the first package costing $19.99 while the  vacuumed one was about $16.00

I guess getting this once in a blue moon wouldn’t hurt 😜

Riverdale (2017)

I’m so glad I’ve got Netflix subscriptions. Although not all of the shows that I want to watch are in there, but at least the shows that are Netflix originals will come up in there and I get to watch it!

I heard about this TV show that was coming up based on the Archies comics and since I am a big fan of Archies comics, I knew I would want to watch it when it comes out. Little did I know that it would be on Netflix! So when I was browsing around on what to watch, Riverdal caught my eye and it was a no brainer for me on choosing something to feast my eyes on.

I have to say that Archie does not look like Archie, but I am glad that Jughead doesn’t look like Jughead. I mean, they could’ve picked a better looking Archie or a more obvious Red Head, but oh well, I guess they just had to settle. Betty and Veronica were spot on, but Josie and the pussycats.. hmmm..

Overall I have to say that the story was very dark, unlike what I was expecting. I thought it was comedic like the comic of course but nope, I was wrong, it was not what I had hoped it could be. It was a bit too dramatic, and overall seemed like another type of “pretty little liar” story.

Let’s just see how it goes on. They’ve only released 7 episodes on Netflix at the moment, and watching Cole Sprouse as Jughead really is the highlight here.

UberEats newbie.

Uber Eats is finally in Auckland. Yay!

And what a day to try it out than on a rainy lazy Sunday. 😏

I was very curious to try UberEats because I had an idea of what the services would be like. I thought that I could choose whatever I wanted to eat and then get someone to buy the food and deliver it to me.

I was wrong of course. It was very much like Menulog, where you can only order from stores that are listed in the app. So KFC and McDonalds is not on the list obviously.

I ordered from this Tuck and Bao shop that serves Malaysian, Thai and Filipino fusion food. Had a Bene Bun and Nasi Goreng. The Bene Bun was good as it had spinach, tomato and salmon on it. The nasi goreng was sort of sweet rather than salty.

Delivery fee was $5.99 but in Menulog, some delivery fee wS $8.00 so I guess it depends on where you order from that the delivery fee changes? Perhaps. Will need to try out other stores in UberEats to find out 😉

Chill Saturday Night

Because I had bumped into Rain’s brother las weekend, I figured I should go visit her at her new home after our last bonding session about a month or two ago.

Took the train up to Avondale station then hooked myself up with an Uber driver to get to Rain’s house down at Hendon Ave by about 7pm.

It was an easy going night where we just chilled, ate food and have some drinks. Just catching up with each others lives and general stuff. Rain’s sister was so hospitable and sliced all the fruits and fed us even when she was not feeling so great.

I brought them a bottle of the Feijoa Liquer that I got a while back from Matakana. But unfortunately they didn’t have a cork screw so we couldn’t get the liquer opened!

These sisters are just adorable. They were trying to get the cork out with a nail and hammer. It didn’t work obviously.

Rain and I even took her brother, Ad’s car out to Pak n Save to try and buy a corkscrew but they didn’t sell any! It was just ridiculous 😓

We gave up and went back to her house with just a bottle of Coke. Drank a bit of whiskey with coke and chatted up a bit more before I called it a night and headed home by 11pm.

It was just a short time spent with Rain and her sister but it was a nice catch up that I miss doing with them. Rain is definitely one of those friends that is dear to my heart and will always try to make time to catch up and bond with her whenever I can.

Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Kong is out. Since its the kind of action movie that should be watched on the big screen, Kobi and I decided we should go and watch it today after our Bann Sang brunch.

I never really watched the original King Kong movie, but I did watch the 2005 one which I don’t even remember what the storyline was. So I wasn’t really comparing this movie with anything else.

I did enjoyed the subtle comedies added into some parts of the movie which were good. I also enjoyed the monster fighting scene which was just awesome!

Definitely something to consider to watch if you are thinking of heading out to the movies this weekend 😉.

Tremors (1990)

It’s been raining cats and dogs since lunch time today. Weather in Auckland has been horrible the past few days. Humid, yet cloudy and rainy.

Initially wanted to head to the cinemas to watch Kong: Skull Island movie but the rain was just too discouraging that I decided to just head home. 🙁

Rainy days are best spent at home really. Had Burger King take out for dinner, and after reaching home with my Adidas soaked in rain water, it felt really nice to be home and dig into some tasty Rodeo burger and watch whatever was on the telly.

What happen to be on telly, at Maori TV channel for that matter, was an old school comedy horror movie, Tremors. I have never watched this, but Kevin Bacon was a familiar face and I sort of just left the channel there without the real intention of watching it for real. Then as I hear the conversations and some background sound effects that indicated some suspense was rising, I got more and more curious.😯

I started checking out IMDB on what the movie was about, and it had a 7 star rating. Not too bad for an old monster movie. There were some comedic parts that did got me laughing, and I was surprised that I actually enjoyed the most part of it. 😁

Glad to have an oldie movie added to my “watched” list. 😎

Free Latte!

The perks of hanging around the student lounge where the Barista course is just next door. Yippee!

Bowling on a rare occasion.

With Hyeji, Saj, Sergii and Khalid on a mini reunion for MYOB/Xero classmates.

I wanted to do this on Friday right after the mid terms exam, but since Hyeji had made other plans, she requested for us to do it on Saturday.

So here we are, at 7pm on a Saturday, having a chill and relaxing bowling session even with a small group like this.

Sergii came later after he finished work. So he managed to play like 2 turns of Hyeji’s bowling game. Since he joined the party a little late, we decided to play a bit of pool after the bowling game.

Lucky for us, the pool game was a treat from my friend that works in the bowling alley. So just two games and we were done for the night.

Surprisingly, the bowling alley was not as packed as I expected it to be. But thats a good thing for us I guess. It was all in all a chill night and just about right for hanging out and something light and easy.

Mid Terms Done.

Friyay! Mid Terms is over! So this hurdle is done for now. Just 4 more weeks to go before the next exam comes around. 😏

So just as a random post while I’m waiting around for someone to finish work so we can go for dinner, let me introduce you to my pencil case. Yupp, this take away clear container is my pencil case. Especially used for exam season. Why? Because its clear and transparent you can see the contents inside and so I won’t have to be accused of trying or attempting to cheat during exams. (Not that I ever would do that of course) Just that I once had some invigilator asked me to take my pencil away because it was not allowed in the examination room. And for obvious reasons as well I guess. So this was my solution for preventing all my pens from rolling off the table. Not to mention, as you can see from my collection of pens, I can never have too much pen.😁😁😁

And oh, you see that green gadget on top of that pen container? That’s the best liquid paper out there in the market. It’s the Paper Mate brand of correcter and this bugger costs at least 7 NZD per thingy. And my classmates have the decency to always borrow it from me and expect me not to mind??? Helloooo??!! This thing is expensive!!! I was this close in attempting to tell the invigilator that if anyone wants to borrow my stationery during exam, they should just tell them NO. But then just before the exam, I saw my Korean classmate brought her own little green paper mate corrector so I said to myself, “good girl, she finally had some sense to buy her own pen corrector!”

And then, I spoke too soon. Around 2 hours into the exam, she raised her hand and asked the invigilator if she could borrow my corrector because hers just ran out. 😳 Of course I was fuming inside 😡😡😡 but I just had to shrug it off because what else can you do right? I hate to be mean but I also don’t like being taken advantage of. Just because I don’t say anything doesn’t mean I am ok with it. Duuhh!!! That thing cost money! Go get your own extra corrector girl!!!! 😠

Ok that’s enough ranting for now. I need to go think about what I’d like to eat to celebrate this milestone.😋
