CHK FLK Reminder.

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Colossians 3:12-15

My devotions this morning led me to this verse and I also posted about this before here. Although I have always heard this passage many times, I guess God wanted to remind me about this verse as I applied it to the situation I am faced with just yesterday. Mom was complaining about a believer friend who bullied her and I felt that pain and hurt that she felt, and even though I prayed for her, I guess this verse would’ve been a gentle reminder that no matter how Christians know or follow Jesus, they are ultimately still only human and still make mistakes, still stumble and hurt people whether by their words or by their actions. And because we are God’s chosen ones, we need to be understanding and still forgive them as God forgave us first. It’s easier said and done as usual, but that’s what the bible says about it, that we bear with them and forgive them if we have any grievance against them. It’s not just a message for my mom, but I believe that scripture was also for me too…
