Fully Booked Monday. #leavingPhilippines #farewell

image

Breakfast date with Ate Ched started at 8am in Pancake House, Cash & Carry mall in Makati! This spiritual big sister I met in Victory Makati reminds me so much of my own big sister Didi back home. She also has three kids, and is the same age as my sister, and even her husband’s gentle mannerism reminds me of Tommy, my brother in law. It was like God telling me, you can always go to her, like how I go to my sister at home for guidance and counsel if I needed support. I had such a great time just fellowship with her and enjoying her stories and encouragement. Most of all, she prayed for me, and I think thats one of the best gift anyone can give me as a farewell gift. I ordered the Daing na Bangus breakfast dish since I was still on the #PinoyFoodOnly challenge. We just talked and shared our lives and praising God for how good He has been in our lives, by the time we finished, it was already 11:15am and I was just in time for my next farewell lunch date with Janice!

image

Rght after I said goodbye to Ate Ched, went straight to a lunch date with Janice at Greenbelt’s Manam Comfort Filipino Food! We were initially already seated at Cafe Via Mare in Greenbelt 1, but since we haven’t ordered any food, and Janice suggested we try something I never tried yet, I thought we could still politely leave Via Mare and proceeded towards Manam (formerly Nam Nam).

I was SOOOOO relieved we decided to ditch Cafe Via Mare and try Manams because I soooo loved the Sinigang they served!!!

image

Had their best seller and unforgettable dish, Sinigang na Beef with Watermelon! So so delish!! Its definitely a one of a kind Sinigang that I’ve never tasted!

6pm hang out with Rosel and chilling in Starbucks Glorietta 5 while waiting for Lauren to get out of her day 1 at her first day at Inity!

image

Lauren shared about how her day went and even wore her first day to work outfit that was a gift shared by Rosel and I to Lauren. This was a farewell treat I owed Rosel for all the kindness she had shown me for the time we’ve known each other 🙂

Binondo Food Trip with The WIT girls. #spiritualFamily #victorymakati

Took these beautiful ladies to Binondo for a half day food trip! From Wai Ying’s dim sum, to Fried Shanghai Siopao to Frog Legs, what an adventure!

image

With my sisters in Christ, Ate Imee, Margy, Jobelle and Jhwen. At the Wai Ying Fastfood down at Benavidez Street, Chinatown/Binondo.

We started our trip early, about 7:45am we met up near the Binondo Church beside Ong Pin Street. Headed to our first stop at Wai Ying. After Wai Ying, we went down the Ong Pin street and found the Fried Shanghai SioPao, even though we were still pretty stuffed, we shared 3 siopaos among the 5 of us.

Next up, we wanted to be a bit more adventurous, and since some of them haven’t tried eating Frog Legs, we went to the Esteras which was like a food court along the side of the bridge and though the place was kind of dodgy, I thought it felt very “old Manila” style.

image

From the Frog Legs, we walked down the street further, and even though I wasn’t really sure where to go, we just walked and walked and explored while letting all that food down our system. Eventually, we did manage to come across that place that I went to on my very first Binondo food trip in 2013 which served that very fresh Lumpia. The New Eastern Garden Restaurant!

Our last stop was Lucky China Town, which took us a while to get there because we also stopped along the way at some shop to get tea leaves and the others got some dragon fruit and other pasalubongs.

Then, once we got to the Lucky China Town mall, we were already all sweaty, hot and haggard from walking under the heat of the sun. That was right about 12 noon. I brought the ladies to the Resorts World lounge to register for their free membership card so we could ride the free shuttle to Resorts World just to get out of Binondo. Spent quite some time there since ALL of them had to register! They even got some mini games for them to try and win a gift!

image

image

After the registration, we head to King Chef Restaurant that was inside Lucky China Town mall, as suggested by Ate Imee since she’s been there, ordered some really light snack and drinks as dessert.

By the time we reached Resorts World, it was already 3:00pm. Went around the mall and took photos and also ended up sitting at Starbucks coffee just to rest and chit chat and chill.

4:30pm, we finally parted ways, and that was my final bonding session with Ate Imee and Jhwen before I left Manila for good. 😦

My Last Day in Factset. #farewell #leavingPhilippines

image

Breakfast at the Pantry! With the AM team, Kaizz, Vans, Maru, Stephy, Mart, Mack, Nica and Jamie! I gave them the siomai treat since the concessionaires had siomai served for the day. I took it all and treated the morning team with siomai for my last day.

image

And this was a surprise! Mack was posting on Facebook about how I should know that they all love me despite not having prepared any gifts for me cos he left his wallet in the office again so he must’ve not have enough cash on hand to get me any gifts. But nope! It was just to tease me! They got me gifts anyway! And I especially enjoyed and appreciated the fact that Mack even made the Mango Float! My favorite Filipino dessert.. awww.. so sweet of him! And he even wore his famous striped red farewell t-shirt! XD

image

They got me a cook book entitled “Country Cooking – Philippine Regional Cuisines” by Michaela Fenix. They also got me a miniature dirty ice-cream truck. And there’s more! A “Worship Generation” t-shirt that has John 3:16 verse on it (unfortunately I didn’t like the color and the size “Small” because I thought the shirt looked very “manly” and the fact that I was really looking forward to that Map t-shirt I saw from Kultura and suggested it to Lauren but I guess they never got around to getting it). There’s also a purse made of bamboo materials I think? I’m not sure what that’s called but its those natural materials they use from provinces. It was pretty cool idea for a gift though.

image

We also took a mandatory group photo right at the reception area with the big FACTSET logo behind us. Awww… this was taken a bit over 2pm so some of the PM team is already around so we got to take photos with them too..

L-R: Lionel, Grace, Mart, Omar, Irah, Chloe, Floris, Stephy, Maru, Jamie behind me, Nica, Vans, Kaiz, Mack, and the two Patricks in front of the reception table.

Honestly this last day was pretty stressful. I had to rush some video manuals for the next Chinese FLA that they will be hiring and it wasn’t easy recording your voice especially when the working area was rather noisy, what with people talking and going to the restrooms all the time. Good thing Maru suggested I book a meeting room and do the recording there instead. Mart helped with the room reservations and although that really helped, I kinda wished I didn’t have to be away from the team on my last day of hanging out with them around the station. 😦

I even had to stay until about 5:30pm on that day because I had to do all the HR exit clearance and return all my stuff to the designated people like my headset and company ID and badge.

Manage to also get a last photo with the admin staffs, Kat, Bon, Sienna, Kuya Migs and this girl I forgot her name :-p

image

Met so many nice people in Factset, and its been all God’s grace to have allowed me a chance to work in this pleasant environment. I have to say this place has been such a blessing in my life, there were more nice people than bad people really, but its time to say Goodbye..

Victory Worship 2nd Album Recording!

Went to the Every Nation hall at about 5pm today because I wanted to be sure I was early, knowing how crowded and packed the place could get. And I was right. We were asked to line up at the new hall, at the overbridge connecting to the old building, and so I was right in front of the line. People started pouring in the place and look at this sea of people!  I am glad I got myself registered online before hand!

image

Finally at 7pm, they let us in the hall and I got my “Worship Summit” stamp! I took a seat right in the second row in the middle. However, there was a large space between the stage and where I was seated. And it was because they reserved that area as the mosh pit, so the younger generation with more hyper energy could just stand there and simulate a real live concert setting.

image

We were told not to take videos or even photos during the worship recording as they are going to put it as part of the music video, so I didn’t use my camera or even my phone throughout the worship. I was surprised to find out that some of the song arrangements and even lyrics were changed from what we’ve been singing in church. But I guess we’ll just have to wait for the end product to be able to tell for sure what the response is.

image

This was the scene of the hall after the whole recording ended at about 9:15pm.

image

With Chat!! She was in town for a vacation and I just bumped into her in the hall and quickly said my goodbyes and took a picture with this girl. Many Sundays ago we sang together as back up singers in the Music Ministry in Makati but she has left to work in Dubai. Twas nice to be able to meet up again even just briefly.

image

I also bumped into this bunch while at the recording hall! With Rina, Ruth, Saul and I just met this girl and forgot her name too :-p

My times are in God’s hands. #IBelongToGod

But I trust in you, O Lord ;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in your hand;
rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!   Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love!

Magic Mike XXL. #danceMoves

image

Paid 370 pesos for this movie! But I guess the lazy boy chair was worth it. And OMG the music and the choreography they used here was siiiiiick!!

And I love how they used a lady character to play the MC this time instead of Matthew McConaughey! Jada Pinkett Smith was da bomb!!

I enjoyed all the dancing and choreography but I have to say, this is a movie for the ladies. There was no specific story line at all, it was straight forward, simple, and showed a lot of skin and flirting. It was so awkward watching this beside a guy who was sitting and watching without any other company with him. 😒
