Jim Laffoon in the house! #propheticmessage #fasting2015

image

Pastor Jim speaking tonight as special guest speaker for our Prayer and Fasting day 1. He spoke about seeing our church as a fist punching through and breaking out and above the infernal walls.

It was an experience that I cannot describe. It was part warfare, part celebration, lots of praise and lots of praying in spirit. I especially enjoyed the version of Overcome the World by Every Nation Music that Pastor Joel led the congregation to. I was enjoying the music so much I didn’t manage to record it!

One part of the meeting that was memorable was when Pastor Joel as he was leading worship, told us all to just close our eyes and focus on Jesus. And I pictured Jesus standing right in front of me and everyone else around the room became a background. Just dark shadows and there was a spotlight on just Jesus and I. He was just smiling and looking at me lovingly as I continued to pray in the spirit. And then suddenly, the image turned into Jesus embracing me and giving me a hug. At that moment, tears just flow through my eyes of how loved I felt. I mean, I didn’t even intentionally thought of Him hugging me. I was just trying to focus on Him in front of me. Woww.. what an experience.. 🙂

I picked up a prayer request note from the fish bowl they prepared before the entrance, and I didn’t open the one I got until I reached home. And its a pleasant surpise since it was a very simple two word request : Wedding Finances.

Oh Jared Gundran. God bless you!! Prayed for this dude and I’m pretty sure with his humble request, God will open the floodgates of heaven to show His favor and blessing to this man who knows that he can’t do it on his own, and needs God to help him with this wedding. 🙌

Honor God in our Work. #MidYearPrayerAndFasting2015 #day1

image

With Lauren and Tina at Fruit Magic Venice Piazza today and did our fasting devotionals together. Just like a mini Vgroup meet!

I’m so thankful that God brought us together to encourage one another during this time of fasting. All three od us are doing a liquid fast today for day one so it was just timely that we were together and shared and studied the bible together.

And what a timely topic to start out too! To honor God in our work! We all shared our struggles with work and how God is speaking to us through this topic. Thank You Lord!

Marriage Goals.

“Both men and women today see marriage not as a way of creating character and community but as a way to reach personal life goals. They are looking for a marriage partner who will ‘fulfill their emotional, sexual, and spiritual desires.’ And that creates an extreme idealism that in turn leads to a deep pessimism that you will ever find the right person to marry.” – Timothy Keller

I am so blessed to have roommates that love to cook and make homemade goodies to eat. Here’s an instance where I get free food even without asking for it!

Thank You Lord for Aileen’s sweet kindness. 🙂

A day of cheesecakes, bowling and Ramen. 🍰🎳🍜

image

Weekends are for bonding and fellowshipping with people I see on a daily basis. With Lauren, Mart, Rosel, Stephy and Maru at Cheesecakes by Guy at the Eastwood Mall. 5pm, Finally arrived at this far end of the metro after going through an hour’s worth of traffic at C-5.

Since the bowling alley was still packed and full, we had time to just chill, chit chat while waiting for a vacant lane at the bowling alley.

6:30pm, we got to the Paeng’s bowling alley which cost us 185 pesos each for the first game plus shoe rental. I guess Mart really enjoyed the game cos he was excited for another round when we ended the first. I also think he was so challenged with himself that he was pushing to get a score beyond 100 🙄

image

When we finally finished the second game, it was already past 8pm and we haven’t had dinner yet. Rosel’s first choice was to eat at Katsu Sora, but the place was already packed and the waitress was also unwilling to accommodate the 6 of us. We tried to stick around in the restaurant, Lauren and I, while the rest of them went around the mall. But we realised our waiting was in vain when, instead of leaving, people were going back for seconds cos they had a salad buffet! 😒

Lauren was already crankey cos she was hungry. So we suggested Hokkaido to Rosel and  she was ok with going there. So off we go to Hokkaido and I ordered the Ajisen Ramen costs 380 pesos per bowl. I also enjoyed the fact that they serve Chawan Mushi for 100 pesos only!

God of the Mountains. #GodTheCreator #GodAlmighty #RememberingSabahQuake #throwback #SentiSaturdays

Was reading Job this morning for my devotionals. Came across this passage and it just brought me back to memories of the Sabah Earthquake last June 5 and the memories of the events that transpired. Indeed, our Great God is the God of the mountains, the rivers, the earth and the whole universe. He is the Creator!!! How could we be so blind to think that God doesn’t exist and have no hand in any event in our lives??

image

His wisdom is profound, his power is vast.
Who has resisted him and come out unscathed?
He moves mountains without their knowing it
and overturns them in his anger.
He shakes the earth from its place
    and makes its pillars tremble.

Job 9:4-6

This is a great reminder to all of us, when the only things we think of is ourselves and what a small world we live in, think again.

The world is big, but God is way way way beyond that!

Keeping up with Mara Faye. #FactsetAlumni #LittleTokyo

Without shame, I invited myself to a party of two when I found out Lauren was meeting up with Mara tonight for a dinner date. They had planned to go to Little Tokyo in Pasong Tamo to try out the Japanese Food there since they both have not been there before.

Being the “former” Makati girl, I actually took them around and even taught them how to commute to get to the place the easiest way and route possible. By jeepney too!

Lauren wanted to try the Shinjuku Ramen place which was outside of the little walled area called “Little Tokyo”. But when we checked out the menu, it wasn’t too pricey but I guess Lauren also had her heart set on eating Takoyaki which was what the other restaurant, HANA, was more known for.

So we ended up in Hana. And sat inside thinking there would be air conditioning but it wasn’t any cooler anyway. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Salad, as well as their best selling Hana maki. I enjoyed the Hana maki because the salmon wrapped around the sushi was thick and so it was very filling. But the spicy tuna salad was just too disappointing. 👎

The 5 pieces 60 pesos each worth of their best selling, Hana maki.

The 280 pesos worth of Spicy Tuna Salad. Oh so dull and disappointing. Taste was ok though.

Mara was doing good in her company, coming close to a year being there, she’s starting to feel that she needed to be and do more. We were mostly talking about Lauren and her love life, which I figured she was starting to get annoyed with our teasing. Am glad that Mara also had the same thoughts as I did with regards to inconsistency and commitment. I just hope Lauren gets it.

The conversation was centered around both of them most of the time, and I occasionally butted in but I didn’t mind. I was kinda tired and wasn’t feeling so comfortable from all that sweat and heat so I was fine just tagging along and being an audience.

It was good to see her though. She lost a lot of weight and her skin was really good! As we ended the night and parted ways as early as 8pm, we said we will meet again before I leave for good. And I do hope that would actually fall through. If not, well at least I managed to catch her now. 🙂

First time at Marciano’s Pizza! #LunchOut #tGiF #LastFridayoftheMonth

Impromptu lunch out with Lauren, Rosel and Stephy just because its the last Friday of the month.

We initially planned to eat at the Korean grocery store down at Tuscany. But by the time we got there, there wasn’t anymore seats available and it was too hot to sit outside. So our alternative was to go to Marciano’s and have pasta and buffalo wings instead.

Rosel and Stephy were still full from their late breakfast so they just joined us with some take out cakes for dessert and ordered coffee and tea.

Lauren and I agreed to share the meal and so I just let her choose whatever she felt like eating. And the pesto pasta with Italian Sausage that she ordered was just so-so. I mean, I’m pretty sure I have tasted better pasta than that.

The Buffalo wings were not crunchy because they drizzled some kind of salsa on top of the wings and the wings didn’t taste like they were really deep fried but I didn’t mind though. The salsa made up for that.

All in all, both Lauren and I spent 240 pesos each for both the Buffalo wings and pasta order.

Keeping up with Sherlyn! #goodTimes #colleaguesturnedfriends

Visited Sherlyn at her one month old home in Signal Village, Taguig!

She cooked my favorite Filipino dish, the Bicol Express and we had dinner together at her humble home with her son JP and a Soda!

image

I always enjoy my times with her and we’ve always been comfortable talking and kwentuhan even if we hadn’t seen each other in months. It was such a pleasant bonding and sharing with one another on how much God has been soo soooo good to us both.

Especially about her new home. She was telling me how God had sent people to offer help even with the wiring system and they got it for free! And imagine the loan they got from people around them so they could finish building this house, all at zero percent interest! All glory to God!

Pay day Lunch outs! #Mexican #B&T

image

Lunch out at Tuscany’s B&T Mexican food. With Maru, Stephy, Mart, Lauren & Rosel.

Lauren and I shared the Chimichanga which I remembered had a bigger serving the last time I was here. This time for the same price we only had half of the serving before.. 😕
