Do it the Asian style. #ootd

image

This is what I wore at Sunday Service this morning while volunteering for the Victory Makati music ministry.

White loose top I got from an ukay ukay store and a long skirt-pants. Shaded navy blue with some white slashes.

I really like wearing this cos its just so comfortable. And perhaps it was also the first time I heard someone commented that it looks very “Asian”. 😮

Sang on stage with Ate Its Wahiman leading worship and sang back up with Joe Henson. Really missed singing with that dude cos he always sounds good and I never have a hard time harmonizing with his voice. Thank You Lord for the opportunity to sing with awesome voices!

Past Tense. (2014) #pinoymovie #crushkosiXianLim

Its a Saturday! A Christmas-shopping-spree-out to be exact. The government even made it a decree to change all the mall operating hours to delay it an hour later. Instead of 10am, the malls will open 11am and close only at 11pm. This was supposedly to tackle the Christmas traffic problem and crowd control since all the 13th month pay is credited to the billions of Pinoys. So its rather expected that the malls will be sardined with too many people.

I got to the mall at around 10:30am, then waited around and had my brunch at Seattle’s Best Coffee since that was the only decent place I could have a meal that was nearby and not overly crowded.

image

Ordered their overly oily sausage and mushroom omelette with French toasts.  Had a hot white chocolate mocha for beverage. Spent more than 300 pesos here. Tsk. Haven’t started shopping and already money is going down my stomach.

Movie was at 11:50am, so by the time I finished my meal, I had some time to go to the alterations stall and get the skirts I bought to trim off a few inches. It costs 400 pesos to trim 2 skirts. Pretty pricey if you ask me. It suddenly made me realize that someday I want to take tailoring lessons so I can make my own skirts! Hmph!

Off I went to the cinemas, not many people in the cinema hall but outside, it was just too many teenage kids hanging around and loitering around the place!

The movie was ok, it wasn’t what I had in mind, but there were scenes that made me teared up. And I really think Xian’s acting skills have slightly improved. I hated Kim’s character though. The mannerism was just too over-acting. At least it was a happy ending. I must say though the cinema was so lousy. The seats were old and overly used, and the sound system was not even loud or clear enough. Disappointing really.

After the movie, I started shopping around for the things I had in my check list, like the wash basin, magnet clips, mostly household goods. Until I got to the tiangge, I started aiming for things and accessories I could pair up with my outfit for the company’s annual Christmas party.

Got myself most of the things I needed. Except for a sling bag. Also I still haven’t found gifts for the exchange with both vgroups. I was also distracted at times and bought some stuff that I really didn’t need. Also I took time to try out some outfits that were not necessary since I already have the outfits I needed for the party. What set me back was really the lady who was supposed to get my alterations done. When I got to the shop around 3:30pm she still hasn’t worked on it! Tsk. So I had to waste another 2 more hours going around just so I could get my skirt.

By the time it was 5pm, I was thinking if I should go on to SM Aura and catch another movie there too. I was kinda tired by then so I figured I should be getting home since I still needed to be up early the next day to volunteer at Victory Makati.

Made a short pit stop at National Bookstore to get some Christmas wrappers and also some stationary to prepare for Aileen’s birthday surprise. Then walked around SM department store’s make up section. Didn’t find anything that would catch my eye so I decided I should head home already.

As expected, line for the taxi was ridiculous. Took grab taxi but it also took awhile to get to me because of all the traffic.

After I got home, Galerose invited me to get Banapple for dinner. I was of course hungry and so agreed to go with her and we got the food for take out and ate at home.

Phew. Finally a long day has ended. December is here in just one more day!

Look at all the goodies on my station! Awwww.. and I thought I could escape the surprise even after being on leave for a week!

Irah, Mart and Lauren invited me to go on break downstairs so they could buy me some treats since coming back from my one week vacation. Lauren bought me Coffee Bean Triple Decker cheesecake, my favorite. And Irah gave me a KFC treat for my lunch. Couldn’t help to order the Gangnam Style Chicken with rice! aarrgghhh.. and I told myself I was suppose to be dieting after my birthday in preparation for Annual Christmas Party! And then Mart gave me more Cakes! From Pugon Roast, they apparently also sell some cakes in their shop, and I got to choose two cakes! A slice of chocolate and a slice of blueberry cheesecake! Whoah! Cake overload!

As soon as we got back up from getting all that, thats when I saw all the little surprises on my station!

Look at the very nice white “L.O.V.E” picture frame they got me with all my photos in there! aaawwww…

Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 1

image

Watched this at the BGC Cinema 1 with awesome lazy boy seats! Woooohoooo!!! And because Galerose and I took the earliest show at 11am, the cinema was practically empty! Less than 10 patrons! Loved how quiet and not crowded the place is at that hour!

I so enjoyed the movie. There was a part there which I was so nervous that I had to calm my heart down by slowly beating on it! And again, I wished the movie had continued on to part 2 and end the story already. Now I have to wait a whole year just to know how the story ends! Grr..

image

Photo with the posters were taken at SM Aura and not at BGC cinemas cos I forgot to do so when we got out from the cinema earlier. And check out my birthday gift from Gale! A white T-shirt from Folded and Hung that says #OOTD! Soo cool!

image

After movie ended at 1pm, Gale and I went to Market Market to inquire about the tailoring and alterations services at the Tiangge. It costs a minimum of 100 pesos just to do a bit of repair and sewing. I also brought my favorite dress along with me to ask how much it would cost to make an exact replica. It was about 700 pesos just labor cost. The cloth materials for about 1.5 yards is another 500++. Talk about costly! But its just so hard to find another dress exactly good of a fitting as that! Its the only reason why I’d want a dress to be tailor made anyway. Gale thinks I should just buy a new dress instead of getting it custom made.

Anyway, went around , bought a dress somewhat similar to the princess cuts that I was looking for, for 350pesos only. Good find actually.

Then off to SM Aura where me and Gale had lunch at Yabu. The tonkatsu place where the rice, seaweed and cabbages have unlimited refills. It was a first time for Gale and second for me. By the time we ate, it was about 3:30pm. Very late lunch indeed. Gale hasnt even slept since she got back from her graveyard shift. But its her day off anyway so its cool.

image

Check out the walls at Yabu. They have manga comics for wallpaper! Cool! And the best thing about this lunch out, it was Gale’s treat for my birthday. She spent about 1K pesos for both of us here at Yabu.

After a quick trip to the grocery and got some daily necessaries, off we went back home. Another day well spent! Thank You Lord for leaves from work 🙂
