TAGGED : Kid’s Question

I got tagged by Big Eyed Gal Val.

Copy here:
1. Answer the Kid’s Question by Gregory Stock, PH.D. Remember: Don’t respond as you think others want you to. Respond the way you actually feel!
2. Add your name (linked to your blog)
3. Tag everybody else!

Kid’s Question #1
If you were the ruler of the world and you could have anything you wanted as well as have people do anything you wanted, do you think you would get greedy and mean or would you be a good and fair ruler?

MY ANSWER:

Well, if I was ‘born’ a ruler, and grew up with all the privileges a ‘ruler’ has, I’d probably be a spoiled brat and yea, could be greedy at times, but not necessarily mean. At the same time, I wouldn’t say I’d be a good and fair ruler cos that would just be all talk without action. I would say that I would try my best :-p

So who wants to be ‘it’ next? /:-)

Plastic Bags

Right. I have been rather ‘less’ active in the blogosphere lately mostly due to the fact that I have got exam bugs biting my nerves.. I am guilty of still, doing last minute revisions..

.

.

So to compensate for my conscience, (and at the same time have something to update about myself in my little cyberspace here ) I think I’d like to share about the article that I been reading lately in preparation for my exam TOMORROW.

.

.

As a student of the course module “Quality Management and The Customer”, one of the articles we were asked to read and review our opinions on is this:

http://thestar.com.my/lifestyle/story.asp?file=/2008/1/15/lifefocus/19977340&sec=lifefocus

.

Its about having to PAY for the plastic bags in the supermarkets when you get your groceries.

.

I personally think thats a BRILLIANT plan. Although I am not much of an environmentalist (I know everyone should be) but I do TRY to be concern of the environment as much as I possibly can.

For example, I do hate littering. (other than littering in my own room or space – my family can testify this, I have tissues and cotton buds of my whatnots and other goos lying around my room and my dresser!) But I dislike littering publicly. I do not throw out candy wrappers out of the car whilst its moving, or even when its not. And if I do need to throw some rubbish away and no trash can is anywhere in the vicinity, I’d just keep the trash in my own bag until I get to a bin.

.

So back to the plastic bags. I did try and do my part one time at band camp back when I was in OZ. I was doing my grocery shopping in a mart, and I noticed that the ppl back there were carrying green bags and the cashiers just dumped all the veggies and can food and etc right into the bag. And I felt ashamed at that point. So I took the cue, and got myself those green bags and started putting groceries into those bags from then on (until I got back to Msia that is . Reasoning behind it, read the sister’s post here)

.

Reading this article, and also with the current wave of environmental concerns widespread, what with EARTH DAY, EARTH HOUR, FREEZE thingy, GLOBAL WARMING and also other non-environmental issues such as those covered in Idol Gives Back, SPCA – Cruelty Prevention to Animals… etc etc etc.. It really got me wondering whether I have been so selfish and oblivious to these world issues? I guess I am guilty of that crime.. ok ok.. will K.I.V about this in the near future..

.

For now, my take on the Plastic Bag issue, yes. I support it totally. Plus, using those grocery bags were actually much convenient! It made my groceries a whole lot easier to carry! And plastic bags nowadays are too thin and break easily anyway!

.

My only concern with the plastic bag issue is, if garbage plastic bags are ever eradicated or banned, how will we throw our rubbish efficiently?? Probably at the cost of our own inconvenience to have to wash the bin everytime we throw it out the trash!! eww…

I miss that guitar!!!

I miss that room.. I miss that condo unit.. I miss that freedom!!!

and of course, I miss the photographer too! (yes dear, you remember you took this?)

.

.

This was taken back in 2002. I bought that cheap guitar there in KL. For RM95.00

I liked that its black in color. And its the smaller in size compared to the conventional guitars. For little hands with limited reach like papams’! hehehe

.

.

I look messed up back then!!! I think it was one of those days that I just hang around at home and didn’t go out anywhere so I didnt even bother to look good for the camera. I believe I didn’t take my shower yet in that pic too!!

.

Did I also mention I miss my long hair?? So am gonna be patiently waiting for my hair to grow now… But most of my frens reckon my personality suits the short hair. I actually prefer short hair cos its more convenient and funkeh~ Long hair just makes me look so feminine..

Like Grandmother, like Mother….. like Daughter?

Went to pay a visit to my grandma this evening.. Haven’t seen her for quite some time now.. she really seems so frail already..

.

.

.

I must admit although I haven’t got the best relationship with her. I do have a few memorable moments of her though.

.

.

At the tip of my fingers, I can recall 2 of those moments. 1, is during my younger days when I used to follow her to work, where she goes from different companies and offices to help them clean up the place. I’d tag along cos there wasn’t anyone else to take care of me. And I’ll be at the office, either sitting down waiting for her to finish, or she’d be giving me recycled papers and I’d be doing some writing while I waited for her. And she used to ALWAYS get me recycled papers from those companies that she cleans for!! I never ran out of supply of recycled (used) papers!

.

.

The other one, was when she had sewn for me a blanket made up of patches of different patterned cloths. And she gave it to me for Christmas!! I promised myself I would try to use it as much as possible. And yes, I do still have it with me.. just that my mom takes it from me most of the time

.

.

So 3 generations, do I look like my mum? Does my mum look like my grandmother??

.

I should head to bed now.

I ‘used to’…..

.

.

kiss my cats.. like, right on their mouth..

.

.

.

As I grew older and learned more about science, bacteria and what nots, I became more aware of hygiene and all that ‘control-freak-ness’ in me came alive…

.

I still prefer cats to dogs tho, as long as they don’t stink.. I got sensitive nose..

.

And yea.

.

I ‘used to’ be much skinnier then too ..

A day in the office

The guy below the RM5 is really my colleague who got married just recently. hehehehe. The green theme really did it..

One of my colleagues decided to put that up on the white board for all to admire..

Talking about a day in the office, since it was Monday today, the morning was reeeeeeally draaaaaaaaaggy… I kept watching the clock. I have to bear with a 5 hour work before I get to break for lunch! By the time lunch came, I really needed to get outta dat office and breathe some air!!! I mean, yes, I do have more things to occupy me now, but still, I can’t wait to get out of the office when it feels like forever in there!!! I blame it on the air-conditioner right above me!! Am FREEEEEEZING in the office most of the time!!!

After 2pm, I am generally fine. Its only another 3 hours before office hours are OVER! Thank God~!

I usually get home at about 6pm. This evening the traffic was pretty hectic I think due to the rain. Doesn’t it sucks to have to be caught in the jam when you already can’t wait to get home???  Come to think of it, it also sucks to be caught in traffic on the way to work cos u just wanna get to work already and get the day done and over with!! tsk tsk..

Anyway, got home this evening and it all came down to a very unproductive evening because, after watching The Simpsons and half of Friends episode on the telly, there was a power failure. Even the phone line was dead. Like it didn’t even had a tone! And that dragged on from 7pm all the way till 10.30pm!!!!

I was just lying on the bed for that 3 whole hours waiting for the power to come back. Really. Just lying there. I wasn’t even really sleeping. Although I tried to.

I even had a little ‘adventure’ during that short period of power failure. Will describe that kwento in another post sometime soon

oh.

Countdown to exam : 6 days.

Walking

..

.

Yeap. I was walking home from a shopping mall here, Karamunsing, and all the way to Luyang. It isn’t really that far, I have walked further distances. I think that was only about 30 – 45 mins tops. Indeed it was a good work out cos I got home all sweaty like this..

.

.

.

It was 2.15pm in the afternoon when I started walking.. See I could’ve taken the bus, but chose to walk instead. And I must say, (and this is based on numerous experiences), that walking a long distance actually helps to de-stress. I suppose its relative to the “exercising” factor that gets your heart pumpin’ so really, its one of the ways to relieve stress.

.

I say this so for obvious reasons, I was walking home yesterday bcos I was stressed out. But lets not talk about why I am stressed out as that would just bore everyone’s guts out. I thought I’d share my ‘walking’ experiences here.

.

I can recall at least 2 major events in my life that had caused me to walk a great distance (theres more insignificant ones as well) . And for both instances, the reason behind it was due to quarrels I had with my ex-es.

.

One time, (At band camp) my ex and I was at Likas Square Mall, and I think we were arguing about spending not enough time with each other and he was rushing off to pick his mother up from work. And somewhere along those arguments, I think he might have said something that just offended me or I was probably being irrational due to PMS (hah!), I got pist off and then told him off and said, FINE! I’LL FIND MY OWN WAY HOME!!!

.

I don’t think I told him then that I was contemplating to walk. And so I did. I could remember so well what heels I was wearing then. It was those really frail strapped ones.. and I was walking along the Tg. Lipat highway all the way to UMS at Jalan Sulaman. It was about 5pm at that time. And halfway through, my feet was already blistered and in pain.. So that journey didn’t go as far as I thought I could. I was thinking of walking all the way to Indah Permai. That will probably be another hour to walk from UMS. But I stopped there. So I had walked for probably about 30 – 40 mins before I failed my mission and called my sister to pick me up.

.

So that was 1. The second was back in KL, during my college days, and I was arguing with another ex, and this time I walked at night!!! And there was once a car stopped and asked me whether I needed a lift and of course I declined. I WOULD RATHER WALK!!!

But my ex then wasn’t heartless of course. He did ride his bike and followed me on my journey and even tried to give me a ride home despite my stubbornness. I was determined to walk no matter how much he tried to persuade me. And I am thankful that he didn’t just let me walk alone and he made sure I was escorted by himself . And If I can recall correctly, that journey took about an hour and a half.

.

.

So here’s Papams’ tip for the day.

.

Feelin’ stressed?? W A L K it out..

.

I even talk to myself while I walk. Well, its my way to reflect on myself I suppose.

Whats Up Papams?

I been itching to blog!! I haven’t blogged for 2 days and I already have so much things bottled in my mind that I just wanna express in my little cyberspace here!!

ok..

the previous post about being a good gf, I wanted to post that like 2 days ago!! I wasn’t able to blog for the past 2 days mainly because..

I was hit with another wave of change just 3 days ago…

See here’s the story.

To summarize this ‘sort-of’ long story,

23rd AUG’06 – 12th FEB’07 (5.5 mths) : Avenue Makena Sdn Bhd (Carwash)

13th FEB’07 – 8th APR’07 (1.5 mths) : D&S Early Learning Centre Sdn Bhd (Kindergarten)

9th APR’07 – 31st MAY’07 (2 mths) : Avenue Makena Sdn Bhd (Carwash)

1st JUNE’07 – 15th JAN’08 (6.5 mths) : D&S Early Learning Centre Sdn Bhd (Kindergarten)

16th JAN’08 – 28th FEB’08 (1.5 mths) : YYS E-Capital Sdn Bhd (Insurance)

1st MAR’08 – 15th APR’08 (1.5 mths) : Home Medicare Sdn Bhd (House Call Medical Services)

The above is a summary of the ‘changes’ I been through for the past 2 years working with my Boss The Dtk. I been transferred here and there, and I have stuck by and put up with the crap bcos I couldn’t afford to do otherwise. And so, as of 3 days ago, the wave of change hit me again, as I am now transfered under another company. Therefore, I faced new environments, new colleagues, new tasks, new schedules, BUT still old pay. (duh~).

Aaaaaanyway, I am now working under a medical company, quite established, a high number of employees as compared to what I was accustomed to for 2 years, and I do rather routine tasks such as data entry, issue cheques, prepare payment vouchers, simple accounting on the UBS, and other mundane tasks or assignments given to me.

On a positive note, the job occupies most of my time, and therefore time in the office flies by faster.

On a negative note, I have to be in the office by 8am and its a pressure cos attendance is taken by a scan of my right thumb. Furthermore, I cannot access the internet as and when I please bcos there are security cameras at all corners, hence “I AM WATCHED” at all times.. and thats also why I haven’t been ‘actively’ going around the blogosphere as well.. By the time I get home, I am just mentally drained and forced to sleep early cos I need to get to work early again the next day!!

So how’s it been the past 2 days? Colleagues are generally nice and friendly, still too soon to tell, haven’t got to know them on a personal level yet. But good thing is, there’s a company dinner tonight that I’ll be attending to so hopefully I get to mingle around more.

Here’s a sweet thing tho,

Saw this left on my office table the 2nd day of work. Apparently one of the staff just recently got married and this is the little gift that they distributed to guests. I wasn’t even on the guest list and I got one!! hehehe..

I like it! Its really cute and nicely packaged!
